In today's digital age, securing your online accounts is more crucial than ever. Besides the password, we offer a Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) as an additional layer of security for your user account. This feature significantly enhances the protection of your HelpSpace workspace against unauthorized access.
How to Enable 2FA in HelpSpace
Follow these simple steps to activate 2FA for your account:
Access Your Profile Settings: Click on your profile picture located in the top-right corner of the screen and select “Your Profile” from the dropdown menu.
Enable 2FA: In the “Your Profile” section, find the Two Factor Authentication area. Here, you will see an option to enable 2FA. Click on the "Two Factor Authentication” button to activate it.
Set Up Using a Smartphone: Take your smartphone and open an authenticator app of your choice. We recommend reliable options like Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator for optimal security.
Add a New Account in the Authenticator App: Open your chosen authenticator app and select the option to add a new account.
Scan QR Code: A QR code will appear on your HelpSpace screen. Use your authenticator app to scan this code. This will link your HelpSpace account with the app.
Verify the Setup: After scanning the QR code, the app will generate a 6-digit code. Enter this code in the provided field on HelpSpace and click “Verify” to complete the setup.
Save the Recovery Code: Upon successful verification, a recovery code will be displayed. It's crucial to save this code in a secure place, such as a password manager or a secure file on your computer. This code is vital for account recovery in case you lose access to your authenticator app.
Confirmation: Once these steps are completed, your account will have 2FA enabled, offering you an extra layer of security.
It's a good practice to test your new 2FA setup. Simply log out of HelpSpace and then log back in. You will be prompted to enter the code from your authenticator app, confirming that 2FA is working correctly.
How to Disable 2FA
If you need to disable 2FA for any reason, follow these steps:
Access Your Profile Settings: Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner and select “Your Profile”.
Disable 2FA: In the Two Factor Authentication section, click on the button to deactivate 2FA.
