Switch the sending of emails from Postmark to AWS

HelpSpace utilizes Postmark and AWS to send emails. If you prefer not to have emails sent on your behalf, you can opt to use SMTP instead. In that case, emails will be sent via your email server.

We are currently transitioning from Postmark to AWS in stages, as we've had better experiences with AWS. This article explains how to switch your channel to AWS.

How to Migrate Your Channel to AWS

  1. Go to Settings → Channels → Channel.

  2. Click the button labeled Click here to migrate your channel now.

If the button is not visible, please send us a message at support@helpspace.com, and we will enable the option for you in the backend.

  3. Next Steps

The migration takes place in two stages—similar to the initial setup of your channel.

⚠️ Both steps are essential to ensure that incoming messages are delivered correctly via the new route.

    1. Update Email Forwarding

Adjust the forwarding settings in your email provider. You can recognize the new forwarding address by the addition of inbound-eu or inbound-de in the address. Examples:

      • Old address:

        • xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@<workspace>.inbound.helpspace.com

      • New address:

        • xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@<workspace>.inbound-eu.helpspace.com or

        • xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@<workspace>.inbound-de.helpspace.com

      Learn more about email forwarding.

    2. Update DNS Records
Add the new DNS records in your DNS provider’s settings.

You’ll find all required details in the following steps.
